As proposed by US legislation, “Conflict Minerals” are the minerals which derived from the raw material “cassiterite, columbite-tantalite and wolframite” which include Tin, Tungsten, Tantalum and Gold respectively. US Securities and Exchange Commission requires that companies that use Tin, Tungsten, Tantalum, and Gold in their products or production report to them as part of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform bill. To ensure that these minerals are “DRC conflict free” or not originating from Congo or its adjoining countries.
The CMD manager is the functionalities provided by the CDX system to fulfil the requirement proposed by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. It provides the complete solution to the company for the collection of conflict minerals declaration and reporting to the SEC. CMD manager extends its functionalities not only to the business partners who registered in CDX but also for the business partner who are not enrolled in the CDX system yet. All these makes CDX system more comfortable for managing and exchanging CMDs over wide range of suppliers.
